    • Medical Step Down
    • Postpartum
    • Labor & Delivery TriageRequired Experience:
      • Minimum 2+ years post-MSW in medical settings
      • Experience in:
        • Emergency Department
        • Case Management
        • Brief Treatment
        • ICU and Critical Care environments
        • Must be comfortable with:
          • Responding to traumas
          • Exposure to traumatic injuries
          • Being present during end-of-life situations
          • Providing bereavement and crisis supportPreferred Experience:

                • Patient Volume: 30-40 beds, average ratio 15-20 patients
                • Embedded in a medical social work department that works alongside nurse case managers (discharge planning is not the primary function)Key Responsibilities:
                  • Conduct psychosocial assessments and form psychosocial diagnoses
                  • Provide trauma-informed, strength-based interventions throughout the patient lifecycle
                  • Offer emotional support and resource navigation to patients and families
                  • Consult and collaborate with external agencies, courts, schools, clinics, and interdisciplinary teams
                  • Promote health equity by addressing social determinants of health
